One of the best times of the year is when Mardi Gras rolls around on March 1st. Consisting of the colors purple, green, and gold representing purple for justice, green means faith, and gold represents power. The meaning of Mardi Gras is French for "Fat Tuesday" and is a month-long event. Although Mardi Gras is the heart and soul of New Orleans, LA, Gulf Shores, MS also celebrates Mardi Gras on the Gulf Coast.
